During this procedure all experimental data if it was 1325 1451 31 possible were corrected to the new recommended cross section data 1325 1451 32 for monitor reactions used in the measurements and to the new re- 1325 1451 33 commended decay data from ref. [78]. 1325 1451 34 Excitation function for the Al-27(n,p)Mg-27 reaction in the 1325 1451 35 energy region from threshold to 23.0 MeV was evaluated by means 1325 1451 36 of statistical analysis of experimental cross section data [1-59].1325 1451 37 Special correction was done with experimental data [3], [8], 1325 1451 38 [12], [13], [15], [17], [28], [47] and [59]. 1325 1451 39 Experimental data of Hudson and Morgan [3], Gabbard et al.[8],1325 1451 40 Ferguson and Albergotti [15] , Cuzzocrea et al. [17] , Csikai and 1325 1451 41 Chimoe et al. [47] were renormalized to the results of precise 1325 1451 42 absolute measurements of Ikeda et al.[53] in the overlapping ener-1325 1451 43 gy ranges. Correction factors for the experimental data [3], [8], 1325 1451 44 [15], [17] were Fc=0.87555, Fc=1.41467, Fc=1.60840, Fc=0.89474, 1325 1451 45 respectively. Data of independent measurements of Csikai and 1325 1451 46 Chimoe et al. [47] were multiplied to the coefficients Fc=0.89370 1325 1451 47 and Fc=0.92320, respectively. 1325 1451 48 Experimental data of Calvi et al. [13] and Shimizu et al.[59] 1325 1451 49 were corrected to the results of Smith and Meadows measurements 1325 1451 50 with Li-7(p,n)Be-7 neutron source [27] in the overlapping energy 1325 1451 51 intervals. Correction factors were Fc=0.96506 and Fc=0.74834, res-1325 1451 52 pectively. On the first step of correction data of Shimizu et al. 1325 1451 53 were renormalized to the new evaluated cross sections for the 1325 1451 54 monitor reaction In-115(n,n')In-115m [79]. 1325 1451 55 Cross sections for the Al-27(n,p)Mg-27 reaction measured by 1325 1451 56 Bass et al.[12] in the neutron energy range 6 - 9 MeV with 25 keV 1325 1451 57 step were renormalized to the integral of Smith and Meadows measu-1325 1451 58 rements in the energy range 6.0 - 7.2 MeV. Correction factor for 1325 1451 59 the experimental data [12] was Fc=0.81415 . 1325 1451 60 Data given in ref. [28] by Mostafa were renormalized to the 1325 1451 61 absolute cross section value for Al-27(n,p)Mg-27 reaction evalu- 1325 1451 62 ated at 7.1 MeV with taking into account experimental data [12], 1325 1451 63 [14] and [27]. 1325 1451 64 Experimental data [5], [8], [12] and [44] were used partially.1325 1451 65 Data of Mani et al. [5] were taken into account only for the 9 1325 1451 66 neutron energies: 11.92, 13.82, 14.75, 16.20, 16.63, 17.83, 18.13,1325 1451 67 20.15 and 21.72 MeV. Renormalized experimental data of Gabbard et 1325 1451 68 al. [8] were used only for the 8 neutron energies: 12.90, 13.10,1325 1451 69 13.70, 14.40, 14.90, 15.45, 16.80 and 17.40 MeV. Information ob- 1325 1451 70 tained from Bass et al. experiment [12] was taken into account in 1325 1451 71 the evaluation in the energy region 6.0 - 8.6 MeV. In the energy 1325 1451 72 interval 8.6 - 9.0 MeV this experiment gives significantly over- 1325 1451 73 estimated cross sections in a comparison with corrected experimen-1325 1451 74 tal data [24], [27] and new experimental data [55]. Cross section 1325 1451 75 measured by Bradley et al. [44] for the neutron energy 11 MeV was 1325 1451 76 not input in the data base for evaluation due to a very big dis- 1325 1451 77 crepancy with new experimental data of Csikai et al. [55]. 1325 1451 78 Experimental cross section data [60-77] were rejected due to 1325 1451 79 their discrepancy with the main bulk of experimental data [1-59]. 1325 1451 80 In the rejected experiments [60-71] and [76-77] cross section 1325 1451 81 values were measured only in a one energy point in the interval 1325 1451 82 14 - 15 MeV. 1325 1451 83 Statistical analysis of input cross section data was carried 1325 1451 84 out by means of PADE-2 code [80]. Rational function was used as 1325 1451 85 the model function [81]. 1325 1451 86 Evaluated Al-27(n,p)Mg-27 reaction excitation function was 1325 1451 87 tested with using integral experimental data [82-93] for U-235 1325 1451 88 thermal fission neutron spectrum [94] and Cf-252 spontaneous fis- 1325 1451 89 sion neutron spectrum [95]. Integral experimental data [82-93] 1325 1451 90 were corrected to the new recommended cross sections [96] for the 1325 1451 91 monitor reactions. During this procedure all experimental data if it was 1325 1451 325 possible were corrected to the new standards. 1325 1451 326 Special correction were also applied to the experimental data 1325 1451 327 [5], [9], [16], [19], [21], [33], and [43]. Cross section measured1325 1451 328 by Tewes et al. for incident neutrons energies of 8.4-14 MeV [5] 1325 1451 329 were renormalized to the recent experimental data of Mannhart and 1325 1451 330 Schmidt [30]. The correction factor of Fc =1.36146 was determined 1325 1451 331 from the ratio of cross-section integrals in the overlapping ener-1325 1451 332 gy interval 8.4-14 MeV. 1325 1451 333 The experimental data of Tewes et al. [5], Gabbard and Kern 1325 1451 334 [9], Paulsen and Liskien [16], obtained in measurements with neut-1325 1451 335 rons from T(d,n)He4 source and all experimental data of Menlove 1325 1451 336 et al. [21] were renormalized a factors Fc= 1.10138, Fc= 0.99177, 1325 1451 337 Fc=0.96830 and Fc=1.07669, respectively. Correction factors were 1325 1451 338 determined from the ratio of cross-section integrals of Ikeda et 1325 1451 339 al.[50] and Filatenkov and Chuvaev [54] to the adequate integrals 1325 1451 340 of these experimental data. 1325 1451 341 Data of Hemingway et al.[19] iand Welch et al. [33] were re- 1325 1451 342 normalized to a values of 110.6 mb at 14.8 MeV and 38.51 mb at 20 1325 1451 343 MeV, respectively. 1325 1451 344 The cross-sections ratio of Mg24(n,p) to Al27(n,a) reactions 1325 1451 345 in the energy range 13.59-17.86 MeV was measured by Janzyszyn et 1325 1451 346 al.[43]. The Al27(n,a)Na24 reaction cross sections from this expe-1325 1451 347 rimental data were determined from the reverse ratios with using 1325 1451 348 data for Mg24(n,p)Na24 excitation function from Ref. [73]. Experi-1325 1451 349 mental data of Janzyszyn et al. were obtained by means of Mg samp-1325 1451 350 les with the natural isotopic composition. Therefore, these data 1325 1451 351 were corrected also for the contribution from the Mg25(n,x)Na24 1325 1451 352 and Mg26(n,t)Na24 reactions. Cross-section data for these reacti- 1325 1451 353 ons were taken from Ref. [74]. 1325 1451 354 Experimental data of Tsabaris for the alpha-production cross- 1325 1451 355 section on Al [52] were taken only for the incident neutron ener- 1325 1451 356 gies 6.28-, 8.0-, 9.0-MeV. Data for 14.0 MeV point could not be 1325 1451 357 qualified as the Al27(n,a)Na24 reaction cross section. 1325 1451 358 Experimental data of Coszach et al.[55] measurer above 21 MeV 1325 1451 359 was not taken into accout also. 1325 1451 360 Cross-section data from Refs. [57-71] was rejected completely 1325 1451 361 due to their discrepancy with the main bulk of experimental data. 1325 1451 362 Within these rejected experimental data, the cross-section values 1325 1451 363 reported in Refs. [57], [59-61] and [64-65] comprised only one or 1325 1451 364 two energy points in the interval 14 - 15 MeV. 1325 1451 365 Excitation function for the Al-27(n,a)Na-24 reaction in the 1325 1451 366 energy region from threshold to 40.0 MeV was evaluated by means 1325 1451 367 of statistical analysis of experimental cross-section data [1-56] 1325 1451 368 and data obtained from theoretical model calculations. 1325 1451 369 Statistical analysis of input cross section data was carried 1325 1451 370 out by means of PADE-2 code [75]. Rational function was used as 1325 1451 371 the model function [76]. 1325 1451 372 Evaluated in the energy range 23.8-40.0 MeV excitation func- 1325 1451 373 tion is the sum of cross sections of the reactions: Al27(n,a)Na24,1325 1451 374 Al27(n,p+t)Na24, Al27(n,n+He3)Na24, Al27(n,d+d)Na24, Al27(n,n+p+d)1325 1451 375 Na24 and Al27(n,2n+2p)Na24. 1325 1451 376 Evaluated Al-27(n,a+)Na-24 reaction excitation function was 1325 1451 377 tested with using integral experimental data [77] for U-235 ther- 1325 1451 378 mal fission neutron spectrum [78] and Cf-252 spontaneous fission 1325 1451 379 neutron spectrum [79].
